Saving the Clock Lodge

We have been in discussion with Argyll and Bute Council, the owners of the Clock Lodge and the surronding site and with Harbro, who wish to extend their current Lochgilphead Country Store offering a comprehensive range of products to the farming and rural community. In return for planning permission for their new store on the Clock Lodge site they have offered to complete wind and watertight repairs to the Lodge and to lease the building to the Phoenix Project for community use.

The Council have indicated that in principle such an arrangement could work. Various actions are being progressed in parallel in relation to the project, including seeking SCIO status for the Lochgilphead Phoenix Project. Another key element is the establishment of planning permission for the wind and watertight repairs to the lodge and for the new Harbro Country Store. Full details can be found on the Council’s website via the following links and it would be helpful if a some active support was registered for both the proposals.
