Public Survey

Public Survey

During 2011 we carried out a public survey which aimed to identify those areas of the town which you think were the highest priority for action.

Approximately 300 people completed the survey and many dropped into the temporary shop in Lochnell Street on 31st of January and 1st of February 2011 to view further information about the proposals.

You can still see the proposals on the January 2011 Phoenix Flier or on Google Maps.

All of the proposals were supported with average scores of more than 5 (where 1 is strongly disagree and 7 is strongly agree). The most popular proposals were

* An improved town approach from Inveraray;

* Restoration of the Clock Lodge as backpackers/visitors/heritage centre;

* Front Green improvements; and

* The provision of a community notice board.

The Clock Lodge Survey

Since the survey, and based on the community support, the Phoenix Project have since submitted proposals to Argyll and Bute Council to prepare an updated Options Appraisal to see whether the Clock Lodge can be brought back into use.  A further survey looking at the possible uses for the Clock Lodge was completed in 2013.
