About Us

The Lochgilphead Phoenix Project was established by a group of local residents concerned about the state of Lochgilphead.

Following a public meeting in July 2009, local volunteers formed a steering group to look into the ways and means to regenerate the town.

The Lochgilphead Phoenix Project which is recognised as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) regulated by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) (Registered Charity No. SC041108). You can view details about are charity status on OSCR’s website

There are currently 4 trustees:

Charles Edmonds ( Chair) Brian MacLennan (Treasurer),  Malcolm Sinclair (Secretary), Norma MacLennan

The Project’s objectives are :

(a) The advancement of Community Development through the regeneration of Lochgilphead and it’s environs by improving the physical, social and economic structure for the benefit of the whole community

(b) Advancement of health and well being of the community of Lochgilphead through the promotion of sport, recreation and play facilities.

(c) Advancement of education in Lochgilphead through community learning and capacity building, particularly environmental improvement and conservation by sustainable means.

(d) To promote Equality and Diversity by working inclusively for and with all members of the Lochgilphead community regardless of age, ethnic origin, ability, sexual orientation or belief.
