Beach Clean – 2nd April 2011

Around 30 local residents turned out on Saturday 2nd April to participate in a beach clean. Working from the Corran along the front green to the Old Herring Pier, 41 plastic bags of rubbish were collected together with assorted wood and polystyrene rubbish. Amongst the more unusual finds were a Roe Deer’s skull, shotgun shell casings, a plastic toy grenade and a small treasure box, which unfortunately only contained mud.

The Phoenix Project would like to thank Aisa Nebreda from the GRAB Trust and Dave Pearson from Argyll and Bute Council for their considerable input and of course all of the volunteers who came along to help.
